FSV Oggersheim 2-7 Coventry City By Kev Monks Dele Adebola netted five times to give City an easy win at Oggersheim. The second game of the tour, organised by Rughier Bernd Killat who was on Bryan Richardson's payroll and named in the famous Daily Mail article from last year, took place in the small town of Oggersheim, just to the west of Ludwigshafen. The Bezirkssportlage was not the easiest of grounds to find but the hospitality we received from this German 6th division side more than made amends. Another piece of tour mismanagement this time by Herr Killatt Jnr meant that City arrived at the ground, expecting a 7.30pm kick off only for the real kick off time to be at 7pm Fielding a team with out the injured Tim Sherwood.,the players including Morrell,Suffo and Adebola quickly changed, had a brief warm up and were ready for the national anthems only ten minutes late. Backed by 25 City fans, the Sky Blues attacked from the start with Staunton,Adebola and Morrell all wasting early chances. In the 11th minute,Claus Jorgensen was brought down but despite protests from Steve Hughes, referee Herr Vollmeier remained unconvinced. Four minutes later,Calum Davenport nodded a free kick wide followed by Adebola sticking the ball in the net well after the offside flag had been raised. On the twenty minute mark,Suffo found Jorgensen who hit a right footed shot against the crossbar. Two minutes later, the same crossbar was rattled by an Adebola curler from six yards. The game needed a goal and it came in the 30th minute, when a defensive header from Davenport was knocked up to Adebola via Staunton and the Nigerian netted with ease. Two minutes later,Adebola doubled his tally when he tapped in from close range. Half-time saw Rachel,Matty and Raff invited onto the pitch. Rachel scored one of her two penalties whilst Raff and Matty both missed from the centre circle. With Andy Whing on for Souvero,Patrick Suffo scored a third in the 49th minute. Reid made a triple change with German David Bergner given a run out. A minute later, the hosts pulled one back with a well taken Chris Kaczmarek free kick. Gary McSheffrey and Gudjonsson came on as City raised the tempo and McSheffrey crossed from the right for Adebola to complete his hat trick. With twenty minutes left,Oggersheim scored from another free kick, this time from Marco Lapidakis. Back came City who had brought on Stuart Gidddings and Eric Deloumeau, and four minutes later, Adebola again finished off a McSheffrey cross. In the 79th minute,Adebola went nap, tapping home after good work by McSheffrey. The rout was completed in the dying seconds when a cracking Craig Pead shot flew past sub keeper Dennis Stockman to send the City supporters in a crowd of 800 into seventh heaven. ht fsv ogg 0-2 ccfc ft fsv ogg 2-7 ccfc att 800 Goals Dele Adebola (30,32,64,74,79),Suffo (49),Pead (90).
