GROUND
One of the last times we will visit Ninian Park as work is due to start at Leckwith on a new stadium.

As usual,it is a pleasure to be able to stand on terraces even if the view is not brilliant and Ninian Park offers visitors a choice of both.

WEATHER
A glorious day with clear blue skies.

CITY FANS
A nightmare journey for a good number of the 800 who finally got to Ninian Park due to a man hole collapsing on the A40. We did seven miles in two and a half hours and were left fuming when kick off was not put back by the referee with Mr Sloebridge claiming that a game cannot be delayed due to fans being stuck in traffic.
Thankfully, those who have a full ticket can obtain a full refund by presenting it at City's ticket office.

FIRST HALF BY Ziad Chaudhry

Against a Cardiff City side which had not won a home game since March,Iain Dowie's side attacking the end where some of the support were either sat or stood.

Cardiff had early chances but there was no way they were getting past Dimi Konstantopolous. The Greek saved a 19th minute Capaldi cross and made a string of saves.

Iain Dowie had said that the Sky Blues were going there to play football and this they did, They had won five corners by the 24th minute and eight minutes later.Julian Gray caused havoc down the left and was brought down for a free kick.

Isaac Osbourne might only have hit the wall but in the 35th minute, the Sky Blues were ahead.

Julian Gray against his former club sent Leon McKenzie on his way with a cross flank ball. He drew out Ross Turnbull and crossed for the unmarked Jay Tabb to tap into the net.

It brought to light the following stat in that
The only time we have had five different scorers in the first three league games outside the top flight,City have finished in the top six and had City supporters in the ground plus in cars and coaches going mental.

Cardiff hit back with Dimi superbly saving from a Sinclair twenty yard shot and then grabbing from Parry as the half ended.

Second half by Kev Monks
I dived into the ground just as referee Mr Sloebridge blew the whistle for the second half.

City defended well in the first fifteen minutes with the immense Marcus Hall making some good tackles to keep out the well abused Trevor Sinclair and co.

Cardiff fans had encouraged their manager David Jones, who did not pull up any trees in his playing days at Highfield Road to sort it out and he sent on Warren Feeney.
The travelled Northern Irishman and missed a sitter in the 90th minute and with seconds left, got into the area and went down.
The City supporters were livid when a penalty was awarded by Mr Sloebridge.

Darren Purse stepped up and promptly crashed the ball onto the cross bar and when it came down goalwards, it was cleared.

Like the players we went ballistic as the whistle then was blown and City were back to top of the league with a second consecutive away victory and a great team performance.

Man Of The Match - Jay Tabb took the votes from those questioned who had seen the game with nominations for Marcus Hall and Dimi.
