Coventry City ended a miserable Easter with a 1-0 home defeat to Colchester United.
On a night where England were playing, it had been raining and the Sky Blues players were to blame for not getting the results which meant that City's play-off hopes were almost over, it was no surprise that the Ricoh Arena was not packed to the rafters for the visit of a Colchester United side who were bottom of the table.
Jodi Jones was given a home debut in a game watched by former City captain Carl Baker.
In the 18th minute, City learnt the lesson playing to the whistle when it looked like the ball was out infront of the main stand but was then cut back for Gavin Massey to slot home from 12 yards. The City players looked at each other but the goal stood.
City were awarded a penalty in the 44th minute. Murphy stepped up but had it saved with ease by Parish.
Coventry had chances in the second half and could have had a couple more penalties whilst the U's failed to make the most of two good chances.
However, it was another defeat for the Sky Blues who have now taken only 12 points from 45 in 2016.
