City were a goal down in six minutes when Harvey Barnes netted and he scored again two minutes later.
Hal Robson-Kanu made it three in the 31st minute with James Morriston providing a cross for Robson-Kanu to head home a fourth goal in the 40th minute.
Reise Allassani pulled a goal back in the 44th minute with a cracking strike.
