GROUND
An impressive ground with a massive car park outside. Away supporters in the end behind the goal. Boothferry Park where Sat Nav sent us to, is only now being pulled down to make way for new housing.

Iain Dowie is going to have to spend big in the remaining two days in the transfer market in order to arrest the slump that was added to with a late defeat at Hull City.

City went into the game, with the stat that they had not lost in four games after winning a home Fourth Round FA Cup tie at the first attempt, and took to the field at the KC Stadium on a coldish night with the rain having stopped just before the start.

Right from the start of this game,it was clear that this was the meeting of two very poor sides.
The only bright spot was debutant Danny Fox, who played at left back and stunned the City support with his ability to find a City player with his set pieces.

Michael Mifsud, who again showed why there have been no actual bids for him from Premiership clubs, had the best chances in a drab opening period. He drove at Myhill in the fifth minute after an Adebola back heel.

In the 33rd minute and after some good midfield play from the Sky Blues was let down by the standard of their passing, a shot on the turn by the Maltese Sportsman Of The Year had to be pushed away by Myhill and hit Jay Tabb before going out for a goal kick.

Five minutes before the interval, Isaac Osbourne somehow escaped a red card when he rugby-tackled Windass as he pushed forward.

City, who are rumoured to be loaning Kevin Kyle to Wolves ,attacked the end where the Sky Blue support was housed for the second half and did little until Fox had a 25 yarder pushed over the bar in the 61st minute.

This was followed by Liam Davis having a rare effort on goal with a 25 yard curler straight at the home keeper.

In the 71st minute, the ball was in the net for the first time in another forgettable performance from the Sky Blues. Fortunately, Hull were the ones to have a goal cancelled when substitute Nicky Barmby was ruled off side.

Fox was replaced with ten to go and left to a standing ovation with Robbie Simpson and Forest target Leon Best getting good support when they were introduced.

Myhill made a superb save, diving to his right to stop Doyle with eight to go.

But with less than forty seconds of normal time remaining, Caleb Folan raced forward. Elliott Ward got a minor touch off a long ball from Brown to play the ball back to the feet of Folan.

The substitute, hit a right footed shot from the edge of the area which flew over the badly placed Coventry keeper and into the net, delighting the home support whose only fun had been high pitched screeching every time Jay Tabb touched the ball.

Now,the support for the Sky Blues had been good up to this point but the defeat rattled many who had spent a lot of time, money and effort getting to see this let down by a Sky Blues team who were clearly not good enough again.

"Dowie Sort It Out" was the cleanest printable and certainly most poignant chant from the very disgruntled support annoyed with this latest performance which sees City only two points away from the bottom three.
