Coventry City left it late but won 1-0 at Wycombe Wanderers.

A Tuesday night and the temperature was in minus figures so the Sky Blue Army headed for Wycombe Wanderers for a re-arranged game

It was a cracking turn out on a bitter night with the well searched supporters from as far away as Newcastle and Hampshire in good voice to see a  City side with one change with Jordan Willis suspended and Dominic Hyam coming in whilst Jordan Thompson went on the bench.

City, in their grey away shirts and white shorts attacked the far end for the first half and "Squeaky Robins' side were defending early on with Ryan Haynes and Jack Grimmer the busier.

Tom Bayliss had City's first shot in the 16th minute with a twenty yarder before Akinfenwa, who laughed at a chant that his " tits were offside" planted a header wide of Burge's left hand post.

Jonson Clarke-Harris won City a 27th minute corner with a powerful run before a free kick led to another.

Gape fired well wide as did Bayliss in a game where Michael Doyle headed wide of his own goal and O'Nien went down at every opportunity.

Wycombe started the second half with a corner and Lee Burge grabbing at a Tyson shot set up by Akinfenwa.

Squeaky sent on Kyel Reid for Jordan Shipley who was not having his best game for City who look more and more like a side happy being in League 2 rather than one which wants their adventure in this poor division to be a brief sojourn.

In the 61st minute., Reid played in McNulty for a shot which Jacobson deflected for a corner.

Another followed in the 66th minute and Reid's kick went across the face of the goal as the temperature dropped to minus five.

Max Biamou was sent on for the last twenty minutes for City who hads Bayliss flash a shot wide in the 74th minute.

Wycombe had a couple of chances as Reid was booked.

The next player booked was Marc McNulty.  Tom Bayliss ran in to the area and was hacked down. The referee awarded a penalty and McNulty scored with ease before celebrating with the City support and getting a card.

City battled on and took a welcome three points.
