A charming ground with terracing behind both goals (the Warwick Road End is
covered). The Main Stand comprises of terracing in front and three different
shaped seating areas.

WEATHER
A shower before the game passed over and it was a reasonably pleasant night.

After the nightmare of getting to Cardiff, this was a pleasant drive up the M6
in less than three and a half hours. Around 450 Cov made the trip with one making the hike from Orpington in Kent.

FIRST HALF
Against a Carlisle side managed by former Sky Blue Greg Abbott, City could have been a goal down in less than a minute when Danny Graham from eight yards fired past Marshall who had been told by a steward in the warm up to move to the other goal and ended up with a bit of shoving. The ball came to him and he blasted the rebound over.

Early on this was quite physical and saw Robert Page who did not look fit when he started limp off after falling heavily.

In the 21st minute, the Championship leaders were ahead when Dele Adebola held off his marker to allow the ball to fall for Michael Mifsud who drove a right footed shot from the egde of the area low into the far corner of the net.

Although the Sky Blues were suspect down the flanks,Elliott Ward and substitute Marcus Hall kept Carlisle at bay.

Jay Tabb was again always looking for an opening whilst Ellery Cairo seemed to have difficulties with the accuracy of some of his crosses.

One did find Mifsud in the 40th minute but Keiran Westwood was able to get down to save and another complete with the obligitory step-over won a corner.

In stoppage time,Mifsud superbly turned his marker to hit a shot which was
deflected for another corner as City went in at the break ahead.

Second Half
At half-time,I'd discussed with a long standing very good mate based in
Newcastle, that City needed another goal to stop a useful looking Carlisle side
from getting back into the match.

We had to wait ten minutes into the second goal for this goal to come. Again,it was Michael Mifsud who scored when he rose at the far post to head home a Cairo cross which was his best of the match.

Abbott made changes as City controlled proceedings.

In the 65th minute, the Cumbrians had a chance with a diving header by Carlton who also missed late on,as City took their foot off the gas

Both Robbie Simpson and Ben Turner had late run outs as the Sky Blues booked their place in Round Three with a comfortable victory.

Man Of The Match - Michael Mifsud took the majority of the votes with
nominations for Ward,Tabb and Borrowdale.

We caught up with Jim from St Neots who said: "I thought it was a good
performance and the momentum was kept going in a comfortable win. "It seems there is a good team spirit and lets hope it continues against Preston which will not be a walk over and will need 100% committment."
