Coventry
City
made the long midweek trip to the north east to play at the wonderful St James' Park against Newcastle United.

The early stages were level Westwood with some good saves meanwhile the City strikers struggled to trouble Harper.

Morrison fought hard and gave
Coventry a well deserved lead after 34 mins but it didn't last as Routledge scored a fluky goal which sent the home crowd wild after 36mins.

Early on in the second half, Newcastle United dominated and scored 52 mins in which was a big set back for the Sky Blues.

The trouble kept on coming for
Coventry as Barnett was sent off for a foul I didn't see too be bad.

Lovenkrands scored the penalty after 68 mins and put the game beyond doubt.
Coventry pressed slightly late on but substitute Ryan Taylor scored Newcastle's fourth in stoppage time.
