It does not matter who the manager is, a one goal lead is never enough for Coventry City who were pegged back for a 1-1 draw at Swindon Town.
With City supporters queuing up for Gillingham tickets or trying to get through on-line, some of the Sky Blue Army, who will be at the Ricoh Arena on Friday night, headed for Wiltshire to watch Coventry City at Swindon.
City, who have lost only four of thirteen matches against teams called Town in the month of August, made two changes with Aaron Phillips coming in the ill Jordan Clarke and Conor Thomas in for Danny Swanson.
Playing in white shirts and blue shorts, Steven Pressley's side, started off positively amid plenty of noise from the 851 strong City support, some of whom had taken in the Swindon V Bridgwater second eleven cricket club on the ground, next door to the dilapidated Main Stand at the County Ground and a support which also included Carl Baker.
There was only one chance in the opening 26th minutes which fell to the Robins as both sides cancelled each other out.
Thomas, Fleck and O'Brien all worked well but too often City were caught in possession. Aarom Phillips also did very well in his role in a right midfield side for a City side that had Ryan Allsop save with his feet in the 38th minute.
A corner to The Robins, two minutes later, was cleared to O'Brien. A great ball down the right and he picked out Josh McQuoid, who rounded the keeper and fired in to an empty net.
'One shot and We're One Nil Up" sang the City fans as Swindon were awarded a free kick that Kasim sent in to Allsop's hands.
Swindon were the first side to win a corner in the second half . City came back with a neat Haynes run and cross for Marcus Tudgay to head over.
The other Ryan in the City team was the busier of the keepers before McQuoid went down the left and pulled back for Tudgay to fire wide of Fotheringham's left hand post.
Suddenly, referee Mr Deadman started giving free kicks for the merest of challenges and Reda Johnson got booked for one challenge just after McQuoid had got to the byline but had no-one to cut back to.
That was the last of McQuoid who was replaced in the 61st minute in a double change which also Shaun Miller introduced.
Three minutes later and the City support was booing the referee who did nothing when Fotheringham pushed a Webster header seemingly over the line.
There was ironic cheers from the City support when Turnbull was cautioned and a free kick was awarded to the Sky Blues with twenty minutes left.
Swindon attacked down the left and Raphael Rossi-Branco was left on his own to head past Allsop from a Byrne cross for a goal which clearly fired up the home team.
The Robins were allowed two corners with fifteen minutes to go. They had another five minutes later gifted to them by a City side who were conceding possession far too easily.
A minute later and the Robins had a free kick in right in the D. Kasim used it to win a corner which thankfully was headed wide. Allsop saved from Luongo before Jackson fired at Fotheringham
Shaun Miller icked up a knock and had to be replaced for the last four minutes by Danny Swanson.
Fleck had a shot at goal following a corner and Haynes won another in the first minute of the four that were added on, which Johnson headed over before Jackson was left with a glorious chance but blasted wide.
But it was a point that City took and probably the point most of us would have settled for beforehand.
