Coventry City put in their best home performance of the season to beat Shrewsbury Town 3-0.

On a grey October afternoon at the Ricoh Arena, City who had Reice Charles-Cook in goal and Marc Antoine Fortune up front, were ahead in the 26th minute when Adam Amstrong race through and fired past Mark Halstead from twenty yards in a half where the City support had fumed for two clear cut penalties not being given and the Sky Blues yet again not putting away their chances.

In the first minute of stoppage time, City did get a penalty when Fortune was hauled down and he stepped up and scored to put City two goals ahead at the break.

In the 65th minute, Coventry had a third goal and again it was the pace of Adam Armstrong which saw him race through and thunder a shot in to the net.

City sent on Marcus Tudgay and he, Armstrong and Lameiras had chances for a City side which thoroughly deserved their 3-0 victory.
