Coventry City are still a long way from firing on all cyclinders but they picked up a point against MK Dons with a 1-1 draw.
Mark Robins made three changes to the team that won at Oldham and his charges were soon on the attack winning a second minute corner.
In the sixth minute, the City fans were booing when a McGoldrick header clearly hit the arm of an MK Dons defender. However, Robbie Madley, who was harshly sent off Dexter Blackstock did not want to know.
Two minutes later and William Edjenguele was forced to clear a yard off the line following a Wood error.
After a corner to the visitors, David McGoldrick was sent on his way and drove a shot which Martin pushed away.
Jamie Bailey then fired wide and then McSheffrey fired over as City controlled the play.
However, on the half hour mark, the visitors nearly took the lead with a cracking volley from Charlie MacDonald which hit Murphy's left hand post and then Dean Bowditch fired at Murphy.
In the 33rd minute, City won a corner and there was Richard Wood to head past Martin and pur the Sky Blues in front.
However, eight minutes later parity was restored when Stephen Gleeson hit a shot from about 27 yards out which took a wicked deflection and went past Murphy.
The second half continued at the quick pace the first had been played in.
Gleeson fired wide after a run and a great Baker cross was headed over by McGoldrick who worked his socks off up front.
As the strange officiating decisions continued and some woeful defending allowed Karl Robinson's side a great chance on the hour mark that was thankfully ruled out for offside, something the assistant on the East Stand had difficulty at times getting right.
Five minutes later and the City defence was all over the place yet again. This time, Franck Moussa had to clear as the crowd grew restless.
William Edjenguele limped off in the 68th minute with what looked like a hip injury and was replaced by Nathan Cameron who had a good game for the U21's yesterday.
Gary McSheffrey was also replaced by John Fleck, as Cody McDonald was having picked up an injury at Oldham, as the team in all red continued to threaten.
Callum Ball was the final change and he had a header saved straight away as both sides took a point.
